Sumner Dems Give Back: Toys for Tots

This holiday season, the Sumner County Democratic Party is collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. All donations will be delivered to the Gallatin Shalom Zone, which is the collection and distribution site for Toys for Tots in Sumner County.

Toys for Tots is a long-running program that provides holiday gifts to children in need. Run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, local campaigns take place every year in communities across the country. 

Last year in Sumner County and surrounding areas, Toys for Tots served over 1,500 children and teens. SCDP is proud to be part of this year’s local campaign, which helps make the holiday season brighter for children in our community. 

SCDP will be collecting new, unwrapped toy donations through the first week of December. Donations can be dropped off at our office on Tuesdays between 9am-1pm, and Fridays from 1pm-5pm (except for the Friday after Thanksgiving).

Examples of items from the Shalom Zone’s Amazon Wishlist include:

  • LEGO sets

  • Bike helmets

  • Board games

  • Hair clips

  • Throw blankets

  • Soccer balls

  • Basketballs

  • And much more!
