Hi, my name is [your name] and I am a constituent from Sumner County. I am calling today to request that you vote against this illegal gerrymander in Tennessee.
This last-ditch effort to manipulate our August and November elections is disgraceful and shows a lack of leadership on the part of our elected officials. Fair representation is the foundation of our country and constitution, and Wednesday’s Supreme Court decision was a step towards dismantling not only the Voting Rights Act of 1965, but also our entire foundation.
You were elected to represent us - not to silence thousands of Black and Brown voters across our state. I look forward to seeing your “no” vote on redistricting TN’s congressional districts.
Furthermore, I request that you put forth and support legislation to outlaw partisan gerrymandering on both state and federal levels. Thank you.
